The real estate sector in Coimbatore is booming with pockets such as Saravanampatty, Vadavalli and Kovaipudur some of places that have drawn people interested in buying property.
This has led to a 25 per cent increase in the purchase of property here in the last nine months, based on IndiaProperty.com portal’s statistics, Ganesh Vasudevan, vice-president and business head of the portal, said here on Saturday.
Coimbatore was one of the best Tier-II cities for people interested in buying property and there
has been a steady growth in the sector in recent times here, Ganesh said on the sidelines of the third edition of the two-day property show Grahapravesham 2012, the first in Kovai.
“NRIs are especially interested in buying property in Tier-II cities,” he said.
“It would not be a surprise if in a couple of years Kovai rubs shoulders with Cochin and Bangalore and becomes a small metro,” said Ganesh, adding that they had chosen to hold the show in Coimbatore because of this boom.
The two-day event was an extension of India Property’s online support to both buyers and developers, where they could interact face-to-face at a common platform. As many as 1,000 new properties, 50 builders and 75 new projects will be showcased at the fair.
IndiaProperty.com also launched its Visual Search feature powered by Augmented Reality.
“This mobile application will help locate the place where there are properties.
One can just move the camera on the application to a particular direction and they can see the properties available in that area with details,” said Ganesh, adding the event would be taken to other Tier-II cities also.
