Real estate firm gifts plots of land to Indian cricket team


HYDERABAD: Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and other cricketers, who were members of the squad that won the first T20 World Cup in 2007, on Thursday received land as gift from a city-based real estate firm.

Suchirindia Infratech (P) Limited presented the plot registered gift deed documents to the players of the first-ever Twenty20 World Cupwinning team on Thursday night.

The players, who received the documents included Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Robin Uthappa, Sreesanth, Joginder Sharma, Piyush Chawla and former India spinner SL Venkatapathi Raju and coach Lalchand Rajput.

The documents will soon be sent to the remaining players of the World Cup squad, who could not attend the function, company officials said.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhoni and Rajput thanked the company's CEO Y Kiron for the gesture.
