Credai to set up realty institution in Ahmedabad


The Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (Credai) will set up an institute in the city to impart education and facilitate research in the real estate sector. The Credai Institute of Real Estate Research and Professional Studies will come up near Kensville Golf and Country Club near Ahmedabad, for which Credai president Lalit Kumar Jain has donated Rs1 crore and its vice president Jaxay Shah has given away land.

The institute, aimed at promoting excellence and ushering in global standards in the real estate arena, will become functional by June 2014. Credai will tie up and get affiliated to top international institutes having expertise in the real estate domain, the statement says. Credai has also received Rs4 crore as donation from members for the project. However, it has not divulged technical details such as project cost and area in which the institute will come up.

Additionally, Credai has also announced Educational Scholarship Scheme (ESS) to encourage students pursuing civil engineering or management degrees related to real estate sector from any AICTE approved institution. Credai will also provide seed capital to students taking educational loans from banks.
