Realtors on value addition, furniture firm smiles


AHMEDABAD: To woo customers in a sluggish property market, realtors are running an extra mile to make value additions in their offerings. Finding an opportunity in the trend, city-based furniture solutions Timber Home Limited provider has started partnering with real estatedevelopers for their residential and commercial property schemes.

The company has been supplying various furniture and interior products to real estate and corporate players like Aditya Birla, DLF, Tata, Adani and Essar. The company has now tied up with domestic real estate players like Venus, Ganesh Housing, Sankalp and Bakeri.

"Realty market is going through a slow-down due to over supply in a few cases and a sluggish demand. Real estate companies are now looking towards providing value additions especially in their residential offerings to attract customers. We are now partnering with builders across the country to provide with furniture solutions," Anant Maloo, CMD, THL. The company has a pan-India distribution network of over 130 showrooms.

"The real estate market generated about $ 66.8 bn worth of revenue in 2010-11 and we foresee the market to grow to approximately $ 180 bn by 2020. The majority of the real estate market, about 80%, comprises of the residential segment and we aim to leverage the potential in this sector," Maloo added.
